Towel bars add functionality to your bath with a decorative touch. Keep reading to learn how easy it is to install a towel bar with anchors.
Step 1: Determine Placement
Decide where you’d like the towel bar to be placed on your wall. Towel bars are generally installed about 48” off the ground, but depending on the length of your towels, you may need more or less. Grab a towel and hang it against the wall to see what height is most comfortable for you.
Tip: Make sure the placement of your towel bar is level.
Step 2: Mark Drywall Anchor Holes
Unless you’re installing the towel bar into studs, you’ll need to use drywall anchors. Anchors keep your towel bar in place and prevent it from sagging or completely falling off the wall.
Once you decide on the placement of your towel bar, grab your mounting brackets and mark the holes for both anchors. Repeat for the opposite side.
Step 3: Drill Pilot Holes and Install Anchors
Choose a drill bit that’s slightly smaller than the anchors and drill the pilot holes. Insert the anchors and gently tap them with a hammer until they’re flush with the wall.
Step 4: Install Mounting Brackets
Attach the mounting brackets to the wall by driving the screws through the anchors.
Step 5: Level and Attach Towel Bar
Attach the towel bar to the mounting brackets, latching it on from the top. It should lock in place. To secure your towel bar to the wall, use an allen wrench. Once everything is level and secure, you’re ready to display your best bath towels.
